Better Together

When you play you fall

You get back up and stand tall

I like to think it will not happen again

You skip right back and then

I watch you trip

and scrap that same knee

My worry will always keep me

from feeling free

I see you run to talk to a friend

My heart begins to mend

Then you push, you pull, you yell

I have to ring the bell

I keep you close to keep you safe

From pain

From blame

As years go by I see you try

You are less shy

I know you can not see that you are different

I pray everyday that you believe you aren’t

Your mind is unique

Your future will not be bleak

I will always be by your side

I will mend the devide

We will conquer your differences together

Because I hold the weight

You will float through life like a feather
